Greeting from the Chief Professor
Thank you for visiting the website of the Nagoya University Department of Psychiatry. My name is Masashi Ikeda, Professor at the Nagoya University Department of Psychiatry. On behalf of Nagoya University School of Medicine Hospital and the Graduate School of Medicine, I extend my greetings.
Established in 1908, our department has a rich history and experience built by seven generations of professors and staffs, consistently sharing research achievements with the world. We also have a track record of contributing to mental health care in Japan and the local community as clinical practitioners.
I personally engage in research aimed at elucidating the pathogenesis of mental disorders, particularly specializing in genomic analysis. Additionally, I have been involved in clinical psychiatry with the aspiration to become a psychiatrist who can contribute to patients suffering from mental disorders. Through research and clinical practice, my goal is to educate young physicians and students, raising awareness for the elimination of stigma. In the future, I am committed to diligently facing patients in research, clinical work, and education, striving to produce results that are beneficial in practical clinical settings. I look forward to mutual growth and collaboration with department members.
